IATA FC: The Sky is the Limit
IATA FC was able to pick up 13 points from their opening five games in the COED Division 2. It seemed already like no other team could stop the title run of the players in the admiral blue jerseys. But after two painful back to back losses against Office National du Film and Bishop St. Bombers 2, IATA FC has yet to prove again what champions are made of.
The impressive start to the season gave the International Aviation & Transport Association FC (IATA) a promising position in the fight for the throne in the COED Division 2. Except for the 1-1 draw in the first game against PwC United FC, the performance of the "Blues" did not show any flaws until match day six came across. "We are more than confident to play a good role in the COED Division 2 this summer. If we continue to work hard, we can achieve something great together in the course of the season", said Mathieu Khoury in an exclusive interview with the CCSL right before the game against Office National du Film kicked off.
Even if the 39-year old Lebanese national still enjoys the rookie status in the COED Division 2, he does not shy away from giving some advice to his teammates on the pitch. Players, who are struggling to give everything they have got in certain matches, will always be motivated by the midfielder to keep on going. "The season is long and far from being over. Nothing is done yet", said Mr. Khoury. "I am trying to stay as positive as I can in my speeches. We all like to win, but the most important thing is of course to have fun.”
After losing two consecutive matches, the players of IATA FC had to become a little bit more serious. In order to bounce back and regain the momentum from the beginning of the season, most of the team members discussed the outcome of both match-ups over lunch. “Usually, we meet each other during our breaks at work. Sometimes it is necessary to talk about our strategy for the upcoming weeks. I have the feeling that these discussions bond the team even more ”, admitted Mr. Khoury openly.
In the end only time can tell, if IATA FC is capable to start yet another impressive winning streak in the COED Division 2. The team, however, leaves no doubt about the fact that they aim to continue the second half of the season on a high. Closing the gap to the first two spots in the league is one of the main goals for the players, who are promoting safe, reliable, secure and economical air transportation services in their professional lives. After that, the sky is the limit. No one knows that better than IATA FC.
Good luck for your comeback tour in the COED Division 2.
